What have we done to serve Sacramento, and beyond?
We have continued offering FREE housing counseling sessions, often including issuing Homebuyer Certificates and pre-purchase information. We have also sought to help renters find affordable housing and help households navigate foreclosure. Our self-help housing programs have also been pivotal in bridging the gap between wanting to become a homeowner and receiving a new set of keys. Events are one of the many ways we connect with individuals in the community. Historically, "Paint The Town" (now Dorothy Mae Good Deed's Day) has been one of our most iconic ways to help improve neighborhoods.
Our Self-Help Housing Projects allow potential homeowners to help construct their own homes. Their labor serves as their down payment! This snapshot is of the Arbuckle Project's first 2 groups and showcases completed homes and homes still being built by families.
