2022 VISION

Meet Our Board of Directors

Lauretta Casimir-Mahoney, President

“As a child, I dreamed of having a home to call my own. A home where I could paint my room, without my parents having to get permission from a landlord. While paint feels small; in the eyes of a child, it can be life changing. I learned very early on, that homeownership and sustainable housing, could forever change the trajectory of a family.
As a Mortgage Loan Orginator (The Queen of Finance) for 22 years, I have a front row seat to the power of homeownership. My commitment to NeighborWorks and the communities we serve, is rooted in my desire to see every family, create legacy, abundance and generational wealth. Brick by brick… family by family; we as an organization, contribute to making dreams a reality. I am honored to be a part of NeighborWorks Sacramento.”

Debra Winstead, Vice-President

“Being in the mortgage business for the past 35 years specializing in Home Ownership it gives me great pleasure to provide my expertise and skill set to NeighborWorks Sacramento.  I have found NeighborWorks to continue to move with our changing environment and find ways to support our local Communities as to why it’s important for me to stay involved with the center.”

Shoun Thao, Secretary

“I joined Neighborworks after working with them on community projects in the community.  As Sacramento becomes more unaffordable and homeownership becomes more unattainable, it is organizations like Neighborworks Sacramento that will play an important role in helping residents learn about homeownership and provide access to affordable homes. I am committed to the missions and goals of Neighborworks and will ensure that our services reaches all communities in the Greater Sacramento Region.”

John Ojo

Board Member

“The reason I joined NeighborWorks is simple; as a realtor, I see how the “American Dream” of homeownership can transform one’s identity.  I truly believe that if people are shown a better way, than that would impact their actions and decisions, causing a ripple effect in the lives of their families and their neighborhoods. The mission of NeighborWorks Sacramento, aligns with my personal mission; to serve, to educate, and to partner with dynamic organizations and institutions, to build healthy, diverse and sustainable communities for all. If you have identified an issue-need and do not take action, are you apart of the problem or solution? My goal in life, is to always rise to a level that requires me to be apart of the solution.”
